Individual-related factors associated treatment adherence among hypertensive patients

Background: currently, some of the most prevalent illnesses are attributable to external sources, such as chronic disorders that threaten people's health. The goal study was investigate differences in individual characteristics associated with treatment adherence among hypertension patients. Methods: this descriptive cross-sectional study, 176 hypertensive patients who reviewed primary healthcare facilities Babylon Province were included. Experts used ensure questionnaire's validity, and a pilot its reliability. Using standardized questionnaire interviewing methods, data collected analyzed. Results: according study's findings, participants' average ages 59 (10.86), 67% them over 60, 55.1% 65.3% men married respectively, nearly half had moderate monthly income, unemployed percentage 61.9%, 36.4% completed their secondary education. Two-thirds, or 70.5%, reported poor adherence. Ages 30-59, male patients, married, high-income, college-educated showed significantly better compliance (P<0.05). Conclusions: every characteristic for high blood pressure is regarded predictor therapy current one few Iraq evaluate look into various elements may influence it using survey approach. Future research on subject antihypertensive population employing representative sample, qualitative methodology, more factor exploration offer additional insights.
